I was an educator for 28 years. I left teaching to pursue two initiatives,
Stymie & No Hate Here Mate.
Stymie
I invented Stymie after a student of mine died by suicide. Students in schools use Stymie to make notifications about all kinds of harm, including bullying, family violence, self-harm, illegal activity, & sexual assault. Students can also ask to be directly linked with a school counsellor.
In 2023, Stymie delivered more than 106,000 notifications to schools Nationally.
No Hate Here Mate
Evidence shows that anti-bullying programs have had little impact on the reduction of bullying behaviours in schools.
No Hate Here Mate is a program that aims to empower students to effect change through acknowledging their individual levels of assertiveness.
